The Barrie Soccer Club provides a robust player development program that focuses on developing players' physical, mental, technical and tactical attributes. The program is based on a yearly periodization curriculum which is tailored for each age group. In order to enhance and support our development and competitive programs and approach we have created partnerships with the following organizations.
Toronto FC
With this partnership, players now have opportunities to join the Toronto FC Academy team and become part of the Toronto FC Pro Player pathway. Players have the opportunity to be scouted for the Toronto FC Academy program and receive trial sessions.
Simcoe County Rovers
The affiliation with Simcoe County Rovers FC also includes 2 other youth clubs: Aurora Soccer Club and the Athletic Institute Academy. These affiliations will provide the Barrie Soccer Club additional flexibility in player development.
The organization’s short-term goal is to achieve both Men and Women senior team status at the highest level possible in Ontario starting in 2022, with the Barrie Soccer Club also operating teams under the Barrie Soccer Club banner as an affiliate. Coaching resources, and player development opportunities, as well as professional and university pathway opportunities will be driven through this partnership.
